What happens to the queen when her kittens are adopted?

I am fostering a cat for the first time who had kittens almost 6 weeks ago. I am wondering, what will happen to her when her kittens are adopted? Will she get depressed? Will she get mean? Has anyone gone through this before?
Yes I realize they can’t be adopted until they are 8 weeks, but if it is tramatic I want to start preparing myself now!

    they are not ready to be taken away from the mother till 8 weeks its better for there development and they do not develop problems resulting in being taken away from their mother. and the mother will be fine maybe a little depressed the first few days but she will perk right back up.
